Potentialy you will not be covered so you will be driving with no insurance , if you get in an accident and someone becomes injured , say needs hospital treatment you will be sued and may go to jail.So you could get in to a lot of trouble !!

The only way to keep your California license and insurance is to stay in California. Where you live makes a huge difference in your insurance rates because of the risk factor. Living in a bustling city like Las Vegas makes you far more likely to have an accident than living in a smaller town.If you don't tell your insurance company that you are living in Las Vegas, your policy won't be worth the paper it's written on. They may not cover you if you have an accident, or try to make a claim. Most states require you to get a license in that state within 30 days of moving there. If you don't, you could be fined.

Just call a Nevada insurance agent that is with your current company and ask the agent to TRANSFER your policy. You do not need to switch companys. The agent does a simple transfer.

No you can't keep your insurance in California. You residential address and the state you drive in the most determine which state you need to get insurance fromcall your insurance company to determine if they will still be able to cover you in your new state. If they will, then great leave insurance as is.However your current rate was based on many factors, that no longer apply, such as area in which you live (may increase or decrease insurance rates due to high crime, vandilism rates ect.), so if they can still cover you, your insurance rate will change regardless. You may have to raise you minimum liability coverage, as every state has different law enforced minimums, which could aso impact your rate.Source(s):http://www.4autoinsurancequote.com

you don't have to change companies, but you do have to tell your insurance company you have moved or you won't be covered.Insurance in Nevada is higher than California because Nevadans are such poor drivers, but there's no state income tax so it helps make up for it.If you don't like the rate your insurance company is offering, shop around, but be aware that Nevada is very diligent in finding out if you are not covered and they will suspend your license and fine you to re-instate it.
